~~~~~
I also wanted to let you know of a great event happening on Sunday 20th, on www.imagefm.ca, at 4pm Eastern Time, 9pm GMT. ( Check time for for your zone ).
Having joined MySpace and Facebook several years ago, I have hundreds of band on my friend lists. Of all of these, one Canadian band, "Dame", a progressive-power-pop female trio from Toronto really stood out and sparked my interest almost 2 years ago.
Back in August they won Canada's YouDiscover.ca Band of the Year, beating hundreds of really good bands along the way. Among their prizes were a recording contract, and a fabulous gig supporting Styx for a televised New Years Eve special from Niagara Falls.
In the course of the recording arrangements, there was a name change to "Moeraes Fate" ( Greek legend reference ).
So this Sunday you can watch the band play and celebrate the festive season at their Christmas Special on ImageFm.ca. I'm reliably informed they will be sticking to a Christmas theme, so there should be some fun and frolics.
I wouldn't normally stick my neck out, but I think these girls can be part of the future of Rock Music, which is in sad decline right now. You can check out samples of the songs from their new recording on their MySpace page at http://www.myspace.com/moeraesfateband
Set your reminders! Start time is at 4pm Eastern Time, so adjust to your time zone accordingly - it will be 9pm here in Ireland (GMT).
See you there!
The Fray "Over My Head" chords & lyrics
Since the title track of their debut album "How to Save a Life", The Fray have continued to produce songs which are 'instant anthems'. "How to Save a Life" and "You Found Me" are two of the most downloaded songs from my website.
"Over My Head" (Cable Car) has the same timeless qualities, I've worked out a very playable of the song and added it to my Rock Song chords page at the link below:
Guitar Chords and Lyrics to "Over My Head (Cable Car)" by The Fray
It's a great and fun song for even the early learner to play. The chords are generally among the first chords every guitarist learns, G, C, D, Em, and Am, with an Em7 (022030) and G/F# (2x2030).
Play along with the video below:
... or on YouTube at The Fray "Over My Head"
Please take a few minutes to browse the other miscellaneous songs on my Rock guitar songs or Pop guitar songs pages or browse through the list of artists on the left of my Guitar Chords & Lyrics home page and pick some artists who's songs you'd like to play.
The official Fray website is at: http://www.thefray.net/
If you are an early learner, or feel that you haven't yet reached your potential as a guitar player, I have put together a list of cool and useful guitarist resources on my Online Guitarist Resources page, you should really check these out!
John Mayer "Who Says" chords and lyrics
Unlike John Mayer's earlier songs from 'Room for Squares' and 'Heavier Things', or even the bluesy 'Continuum', where I had quite a bit of trouble working out 'easy-play' chords and lyrics versions, the new album 'Battle Studies' seems to have a few tracks which, without taking anything away from the original recording, can be quite easily played on acoustic by guitar players in the quite early learning stages.
"Who Says", the first single from the album comes into this category - I was able to work out a version (using Capo on 1st Fret), with just G D Em A Bm and F# ( ok, on the outro there are also Asus4 - 002230 and G/F# - 2x2003 ), but all-in-all a song that's fun to do, and pretty playable.
I've added it to the list of songs (16 now, from "Your body is a Wonderland" up to "Who Says") on my John Mayer page at the link below:
Guitar Chords and Lyrics to "Who Says" by John Mayer.
Foo Fighters "Wheels" Guitar Chords and Lyrics
The Foo Fighters seem to have been around forever! Actually, their first album "Foo Fighters" was released in 1995.
They recently released their "Greatest Hits" album, and as you listen to the songs again it's easy to see why they are one of the most respected and influential bands on the planet.
I already had ten chords & lyrics versions of their songs on my Foo Fighters guitar songs page, so I've now worked out my version of a previously unreleased track "Wheels" which was included on the new Greatest Hits album, you can check out the chords and lyrics at the link below. Only 4 chords repeated throughout - Dsus2, A, F#5 and E. If you're a learning guitarist and think these chords look too hard, well Dsus2 is just the D major chord with the first string open, and the F#5 can be played as just an F# major chord, with or without the barre.
Guitar chords and lyrics to "Wheels" by the Foo Fighters
There is a whole bunch of great stuff for FF fans on the Foo Fighters official website
Paolo Nutini "Pencil Full of Lead"
Paolo Nutini is certainly one of those artists who grows on you!
I had already posted chords & lyrics for "New Shoes", "Candy" and "Last Request", all of which showcased his serious talent as a musician in the "singer/songwriter" genre, with a great voice and songs falling somewhere between Pop and Rock.
"Pencil Full of Lead" is showing the lighter side of Paolo, it's a fun, rockabilly-style romp, the song, and video ( below ) reminded me more than anything of the re-release video version of Jackie Wilson's "Reet Petite".
I've worked out the chords and lyrics for "Pencil Full of Lead" ( it's a really easy song to learn, only requires chords D,G and A ) and posted them to my Pop Songs chords and lyrics at the link below
Van Morrison "Streets of Arklow" chords & lyrics
I had a very poignant request yesterday from Roscoe in Idaho, for this song. Roscoe has been fighting a long battle against cancer for some years, and takes great strength from listening to and playing music.
He particularly wanted to be able to play Van Morrison's "Streets of Arklow", from Van Morrison's 1974 "Veedon Fleece" album.
I did used to own the LP version of this great album, but it was one of many vinyl casualties of a house move some years ago.
I searched YouTube for an official version of the song with no luck, and my own recollection of the song was too vague to be sure of working out a reasonably accurate version.
So I owe a debt to 'Kefera' on YouTube, who had recorded a cover of the song, which on listening sounded true to the memory of the song I had in mind.
I worked out my chords & lyrics version based on this video, and have posted it to my Van Morrison guitar chords page, at the link below:
Guitar Chords and Lyrics to "Streets of Arklow" by Van Morrison"
Chords are as easy as you would wish - just C major and E minor, using hammer-on and -off on both chords for stronger effect. Play along with the great cover version of "Streets of Arklow" if you want to get the feel and rythm of the song just right.
I know you will join with me in wishing Roscoe success in his long-term battle against his illness, I hope there is truth in the power of combined prayer and well-wishing. I hope also that Roscoe doesn't mind that I have dedicated this post to him, and requested your combined wishes for his recovery. He is bearing his burden with strength and dignity, but I really hope that directing the positivity of the music community to his fight will be a force in aiding his recovery.
Enjoy your music, and let it be a source of strength to you, whatever your struggles may be.
The Smiths "Cemetry Gates" guitar chords & lyrics
"The Queen is Dead" is widely recognized as the finest Smiths album, it's certainly my favourite!
The Smiths were one of very few bands and artists - Talking Heads, Elvis Costello, Madness, Nirvana - who sustained me through the 80's. Morrissey's quirky lyrics and compelling voice and Johnny Marr's acrobatic guitar playing were a real breath of fresh air.
I've already posted a few of the songs from the album to my Smiths guitar chords page, including "Frankly Mr. Shankly", "Bigmouth", "There is a light that never goes out" (great, great song!), I've now added "Cemetry Gates" (original spelling) to the list.
Quite easy chords (for The Smiths!) - just G, C, D, Em and Bm, with a Gmaj7 thrown in for the opening and closing riffs. Obviously you're not gonna recreate the Smiths sound just playing chords, but you can still have a lot of fun with this song. Check out the chords and lyrics at the link below:
Semisonic "(It's) Closing Time" guitar chords & lyrics
Heard this one on the radio recently - I remembered the song but couldn't be sure who was singing it.
So I searched around, and the first information I got was that it was Greenday. I searched YouTube, and sure enough it came up as a Greenday song. I worked out the chords and lyrics, and posted them to my Greenday guitar chords page.
But, I was pretty sure that it wasn't Billie Joe Armstrong singing the song, even tho' the overall song structure was very 'Greenday-like', rock ballad chords building up to crunchy power chords. Searched again and found an equal number of 'yes it is / no it isn't Greenday', or it's a Greenday cover of a Semisonic Song, or it's Dan Wilson doing guest vocals for Greenday.
I've always found Wikipedia to be pretty reliable in these matters: "'Closing Time' is a song by Semisonic from their album Feeling Strangely Fine. It is sometimes misattributed to Green Day".
From the guitarists point of view, it's just a great song to learn and play. For the non-believers, I've left on on my Greenday song chords page, but have now added it to my Rock songs guitar chords page, at the link below:
Guitar chords and lyrics for 'Closing Time' by Semisonic Chords are nice & simple, just G, D, Am, C throughout, with an A major and a Dsus2 ( x00230 ) as the bridge.
I always recommend that you play along with the song (above) or on the YouTube video
Jack Johnson "Hope" guitar chords & lyrics
When I heard about the impending release of Jack Johnson's new album 'En Concert', it reminded me how great the 2008 'Sleep Through the Static" album was, and how few songs I'd worked out from it. The last Jack Johnson song chords I posted to the site were for "If I had eyes".
So I've had a listen through the album again, and picked "Hope" as a great song, both to listen to and to play, as my next song to work out playable chords and lyrics for. I've posted them to my Jack Johnson page, at the link below:
Jack Johnson guitar chords and lyrics I know you'll have fun playing this one! It has the typical Jack Johnson bubbly calypso sound, and very easy chords - G, Am, and C - pretty much the first three chords most learning guitarists get to grips with.
Stereophonics - "Innocent" guitar chords & lyrics
The Stereophonics are one of those bands who seem to have been around for ever! According to Wikipedia, they were formed in 1992, released their first album in 1997, since when they've released 6 albums, 5 of which have topped the UK albums chart. I've always been a fan, and have a bunch of their songs from thru the years on my Stereophonics guitar chords and lyrics page.
They are releasing a new album "Keep Calm and Carry On" next month. I've worked out the chord and lyrics to "Innocent", the first single from the album, and posted them to my Stereophonics song chords page at the link below:
Snow Patrol "Just say Yes" chords and lyrics
Snow Patrol are one of those bands who I really like, but maybe not in my 'Top 10', but I always enjoy playing Snow Patrol songs on my guitar, so I was thrilled to find out that they're releasing a new compilation album "Up To Now" this month, with studio tracks, B sides and three brand new songs, the first of which "Just Say Yes" will be their new single.
Never one to let the grass grow under my feet, I've got off the blocks quickly, and worked out my chords and lyrics version of "Just Say Yes" . Snow Patrol songs don't tend to be too difficult to play - this one is no exception, with just the chords A, D, F#m, D throughout the entire song ( or if you're an early learner and find the F#m a bit tricky, you can put your capo on the 2nd fret and play G, C, Em, C ).
I've posted my version of "Just Say Yes" to my Snow Patrol Song Chords page, please feel free to check it out.
Try playing along with the video above, or at YouTube - Snow Patrol "Just say Yes"
Rory Gallagher "I'm not awake yet" chords & lyrics
Once again, somewhat 'punching above my weight' with this, but it's a great song by one of my favourite all-time artists, and I am a huge Rory Gallagher fan, and I actually have a Rory Gallagher chords page on my website.
Ok, I know my version of the song is a bit light, with just chords and lyrics and the short solo, but if you can even aspire to playing the solo at the end of the song, well ... you probably shouldn't be reading this! I think the song can work well as an acoustic number, if you can figure any neat embellishments to add to the sound, so much the better.
But, I've worked out my usual "chords and lyrics" version of the song, if you want to try it out, click on the link below:
Tom Waits "Alice" guitar chords & lyrics
This is another song which somehow 'slipped thru the cracks'. I discovered my transposition of 'Alice' while migrating my site to a new host recently. Another one I had worked out and forgotten to post to the site. Ah well, better late than never, I s'pose...
In fairness, Tom did release 'Alice' and 'Woyczec' - two albums with totally contrasting material, on the same date in 2002 - as a huge Tom Waits fan, I probably spent that whole month just listening to the great new songs.
But I have now posted the chords for "Alice to my Tom Waits songs page at the link below:
Guitar chords and Lyrics for Tom Waits songs - "Alice"
You should try playing along with the video (above), or on Alice on Youtube
The original is in the key of F#m, which throws out somee tricky enough chords, so I've transposed it down to Em ( Check out my guide to chord transposition, to see how this is done. ). Anywaze, this leads to a more manageable set of chords - Am7, B7, Em, and E7. It's one of Tom's softer songs ( "Bawlers..." ), so you don't have to drink a quart of bourbon and smoke 60 Lucky Strikes before attempting it...!
The Frames "Seven Day Mile" chords & lyrics
I find myself more and more depending on hearing good songs on TV ads and programs, to get songs I'd like to work out and feature on the site. "House" has been a particulary good source recently, they've used some clips of great songs in the first 5 seasons.
While watching the second part of Season 6, Episode 1, at a critical point in the story ( don't worry, I won't ruin the plot! ), they played a great song I didn't recognize, so I searched for a "House Episode guide", and found that not only was it an Irish band, but one of my favourite - The Frames. The song was "Seven Day Mile", from their 1999 album "Dance The Devil", from which I had already posted chords and lyrics for "Plateau", "Star, Star", and "Neath the Beeches" I guess I'd forgotten just how good "Seven day Mile" really was.
I've now worked my chords and lyrics version of "Seven Day Mile" which you can find on my guitar chords website at the link below:
The Frames "Seven Day Mile" guitar chords and lyrics
Chords are a very easy set of G, A, Bm and D, so it's worth having a go, even if you aren't quite a virtuoso yet.
Norah Jones "Chasing Pirates" chords & lyrics
Norah Jones has released a new album "The Fall", her first since 2007's "Not Too Late". The album marks something of a new direction musically, and the artist credits boast some top studio crew and musicians who have previously collaborated with the likes of Tom Waits, Kings of Leon, Modest Mouse, Beck, REM, Elvis Costello and Johnny Cash.
The chords and lyrics for Norah's "Thinking about You" was my last Norah Jones post, and I've only had a chance to have a quick listen to the new album, it sounds really smooth, with a 'fuller' sound than previous albums.
I have worked out and posted the chords and lyrics of "Chasing Pirates", the first single from the new album, to my Norah Jones song chords page, check out the link below.
PJs Guitar Chords and Lyrics - Norah Jones songs, "Chasing Pirates"
If the embedded video above doesn't play, you can still play along with the song by listening along on YouTube - Norah Jones "Chasing Pirates"
Chords for the song are very straightforward, it should be suitable for early learners to have a go! Verse chords are D, Bm, G, Em and chorus chords are: G, A, D, Bm. That's it!
Arctic Monkeys "Crying Lightning" chords and lyrics
"Crying Lightning" is the first single from the Arctic Monkeys 2009 album "Humbug".
The Arctic Monkeys are one of my favourite bands, and even though their quirky manic brand of rock doesn't lend itself terribly well to 'busking' on an acoustic, I've managed to work out pretty playable versions of 8 of their songs, which are on my Arctic Monkeys song chords page.
The most recent of these is "Crying Lightning", you can try out my simplified version of this one at the link below:
Guitar Chords and Lyrics for Arctic Monkeys "Crying Lightning" - new single from "Humbug"
If the video above fails to play, you can play along with the song on This Youtube Link
Though I've tried to present it as simply as possible, it might be a bit of a stretch if you're in the early learning stages. Chords are A, F, G, C, G#, E, Am, and Dm.
Eurythmics "Sweet Dreams" chords and lyrics
This is another piece of buried treasure unearthed during my recent website move. I had worked out the song back when it was released, (in 1983!), used to play it regularly back then, but had never posted it to my chords site.
It's a really straightforward song to play, with verse and chorus being Am F E all the way through the song, with just a Dm thrown in during the bridge. Of course no-one will ever sing it like Annie Lennox, but it's a fun song to do, everyone always joins in on the chorus.
"Sweet Dreams (are made of this)" is now on the site, on the Rock Song chords page, at the link below:
Weezer - "I want you to" chords and lyrics
The full song title "If you're wondering if I want you to, I want you to" wouldn't fit in the title bar, for obvious reasons!
Just realised that the last time I posted Weezer song chords to the site ( "Peace" from the 2005 album "Make Believe" ) was over a year ago!
Bang up to date this time tho' - it's the new single (as above) from their brand new album "Raditude". It took a while for this one to grow on me, but it has, I'm really enjoying both listening to and playing the song. If the rest of the album is up to this standard, you can expect more Weezer songs from "Raditude" on my site very soon!
Anywaze, I've worked out my version of the chords and lyrics to "... I want you to" and posted them to my Weezer guitar chords page. It's a really catchy song, I hope you like it, and will have fun playing and singing along.
If the video above doesn't play, you can find the song at this Youtube link
Learn more about Weezer at their official website : weezer.com and CDUniverse have a Weezer page where you can browse their collection of albums and singles, maybe treat yourself to an early Xmas present!
Paolo Nutini - "Last request" chords & lyrics
This is my 3rd Paolo Nutini song, having previously posted "New Shoes" and "Candy" to my Pop songs chords and lyrics page.
Another melodic ballad, with a big-hitting chorus, that's really fun to play and sing. If you find the chords difficult ( verse: F Am Cm Gm, bridge: Bb Dm Gm, chorus: F Am Dm Gm Bb C ), you can use my Guide to chord transposition to slide the chords to a key which suits your playing ability. Sliding down 3 semitones would give you verse: D F#m Am Em, bridge: G Bm Em, chorus: D F#m Bm Em G A. Just put a capo on 3rd fret to bring it up to the original key.
I have posted my version of the song chords and lyrics for "Last Request" to my Pop Songs chords and lyrics page at the link below:
Grizzly Bear - Two weeks chords & lyrics
Another 'debut' band for my website, Grizzly Bear are a US Indie band from Brooklyn. I've only heard a few of their songs, hard to categorize their sound, but they've supported Radiohead ( who are apparently big fans ), and remind me somewhat of Belle & Sebastien, nice melodies, but with a kind of ominous undercurrent. But that's just me.
I've worked out chords for their single "Two Weeks", from the 2009 album Veckatimest for my Rock songs chords page, you can find it at the link below:
Rock Guitar chords and lyrics to "Two weeks" by Grizzly Bear
The video above should help if you want to play along with song. If it doesn't play for any reason, you can check it out at this Youtube link
Chords are straightforward enough: F, Am, C for the verses and Bb, F, C for the chorus. For easier chords you could transpose down to C, giving verse chords of C, Em, G, and chorus chords F, C, G ( put capo on 5th fret to bring the key back up to F ).
There's a whole bunch of information and good stuff on the official Grizzly Bear website at http://www.grizzly-bear.net/
QOTSA - Make it Wit Chu chords and lyrics
This is my first attempt at 'chording' a Queens of the Stone Age song. "Make it wit chu is the 3rd single from their most recent album Era Vulgaris.
It's quite playable on acoustic, and only features the chords C, A, A7 and E, so you should be able to pick it up quite quickly
I've transcribed my 'simplified' version of the song, and posted it to my Rock song chords page at the link below:
White Lies "Death" guitar chords and lyrics
With a sound reminiscent of The Killers, Kings of Leon and Arcade Fire, 'White Lies' - a London band formed from the members of Fear of Flying released their first album "To Lose My Life" earlier this year.
I have worked out the chords and lyrics for the first single from the album "Death", and added them to my Rock guitar songs page. Definitely a band to watch out for, really like their sound.
The chords are not that tricky, with most of the first verse being G, C and D, and a Bm and A mixed in thru the pre-chorus and chorus. There is a nifty change in the chord pattern for verse 2, from G-D-C-D to G-Em-C, but that's about it! A fairly playable set of chords, even for early learners.
You can check out my interpretation of the song at the link below:
Wilco - "Via Chicago" chords and lyrics
Recently posted chords and lyrics for Wilco "Summer teeth" , title track of the album from back in 1999.
As I was listening to the album, there were a few stand-out tracks, one of which, "Via Chicago" I decided would be good to work out and play.
There is a little Dmaj7-D 'thing' at the start of each line, but it basically just involves playing the Dmaj7 chord and a 'hammer-on' of the middle finger to make the D chord. Other than that the song is all D, A, G making it a nice but easy song for begginners to learn.
So, I've added it to my Wilco song chords page, at the link below:
David Gray - "Fugitive" chords and lyrics
David Gray has just released his 8th album "Draw The Line", the first album of new songs since 2005's "Life in Slow Motion".
The Fray - Never Say Never chords and lyrics
"Never Say Never" is the 2nd single from The Fray's 2nd album, "The Fray", and although they are pretty much a 'piano-rock' band, it's another good song to play on guitar. I had already worked out and posted chords and lyrics to "You Found Me" , the anthemic first single from the album, and it has been one of the most downloaded of all song chords from my site.
It's a nifty little song for even the early learner to play. Six chords, but they are generally among the first chords every guitarist learns, G, C, D, Em, Am and Bm.
I've posted my interpretation of the song at the link below:
R.E.M. - Cuyahoga chords and lyrics
I have recently changed web host, which entails a whole lot of work - I won't bore you with the details.
One of the fringe benefits, however, was that in my artist folders I discovered a few songs which I had obviously worked out at some point in the past, but had forgotten to post on the site.
One of these is a brilliant old song from REM - "Cuyahoga" from their 1986 album "Life's Rich Pageant". I can remember working out REM's "Fall on me" chords shortly after creating my site, and I know that I would have worked out Cuyahoga at around the same time - I guess I was avoiding putting 2 songs by the same artist up at the same time.
Fall on Me was on the REM songs page, but, until now, Cuyahoga was conspicious by it's absence!
I've rectified the omission now, and you can find the song at the link below:
Guitar chords and lyrics - "Cuyahoga" by REM
It's always good when learning a song to play along with the original - if the video above doesn't play for any reason, you can find "Cuyahoga" on YouTube at the link below:
If you're a fan of REM, and like to play their songs, I have over 60 easy to play versions of REM songs from the '80s up to their recent stuff on ( where else! ) my R.E.M. song chords page, I'd be delighted if you check it out and find some songs to add to your repertoire!
Beatles - All Together Now chords & lyrics
Yet another song brought to mind by a TV ad - this time it's the Budweiser ad, featuring a version of the Beatles "All Together Now", from the Yellow Submarine album. When looking for Beatles songs to play on guitar , Yellow Submarine is not the first album you reach for, so this song has pretty much passed me by over the years.
But hearing it again on the ad, it is a bouncy, fun song, and very easy to play - in fact it is one of the 'dream' songs for early learners, as it features just three chords - G, C and D, generally the first three chords guitar tutors will teach.
So as it's a fun song, and very suitable for early learners, I have worked out my interpretation of the chords and lyrics and posted them to my Beatles page ( link below )
http://www.guitarsongs.info/Beatles.htm
If the video above doesn't play, the YouTube version is HERE
I hope you'll have as much fun with it as I have!
The Frames - "Plateau" chords and lyrics
The Frames are a band I frequently come back to, both to listen to, and to work out songs to play. A prolific band ( 10 albums in the past 12 years and still going strong ), there are a great selection of songs to choose from.
I've been listening to the 'Dance the Devil' album mostly of late, and have already included "Star Star" and "Neath the Beeches" from this album on my Frames guitar songs page .
I've now worked out fairly playable chords and lyrics to "Plateau" which you can find on my guitar chords website at the link below:
Jason Mraz - "I'm yours" chords and lyrics
I must have been on another planet for the past few years - I only became aware of Jason Mraz when I installed a new search option on my blog, and checking the stats found that this song is the most searched for by a mile, ahead of even the Kings of Leon "Use Somebody" and Greenday "21 Guns" (both of which I have already posted on my site).
Jason Mraz has been around for several years, so I have a lot of catching up to do, but I figured I'd better have a listen to "I'm Yours", when so many guitarists obviously want to play the song.
It's a great little song, with a reggae/calypso beat, reminded me a lot of some of Jack Johnson's songs. It's fun and easy to play too - it's actually in the key of B major, with chords B, F#, G#m, and E, with a C#7 thrown in once or twice, but putting the capo on the 2nd fret, I was able to transpose it to A, so the chords are a much easier set - A, E, F#m, D, with the occasional B7.
I've posted my version of the chords and lyrics to "Jason Mraz - I'm Yours" to my Pop Guitar Songs page, at the link below:
Five for Fighting - Easy Tonight chords and lyrics
I have to admit that Five for Fighting ( stage name of US singer-songwriter John Ondrasik ) largely passed me by. I know that Superman (It's not easy) was a hit from the 2000 album "America Town" ( mental note to add this one to my 'to do' list )
But I heard "Easy Tonight" while watching an episode of the TV show Scrubs, and remembered it as one of the 'ones that got away' - I know I had it on my list at the time, but it somehow slipped through the net.
So, somewhat belatedly, I've worked out my version of the chords and lyrics, and added them to my website at the link below:
Colbie Caillat - Fallin' For You chords and lyrics
I accepted a MySpace friend request from Colbie Caillat about three & a half years ago. I promote my chords and lyrics website on my MySpace account, so I get a lot of friend requests from bands and artists.
She was an unsigned artist then, but had already had a huge number of listeners to the songs featured on her MySpace page. She has a great voice, and the songs even back then were polished and professional, so I was telling anyone who would listen that she was going to be 'BIG!'.
I've posted chords and lyrics for the brilliant "Bubbly", which had over 22 million plays on her MySpace page before taking the US charts by storm and hitting the #1 single spot in May 2007, and also chords and lyrics for "Realize", which was also a top 20 hit from the debut album "Coco".
I have now worked out my interpretation of her latest single "Fallin' for You", released in June 2009, and which went straight into the US charts at #12. Still puzzling as to why this success isn't mirrored in the UK and Europe, maybe it's just a matter of time.
For those who are familiar with these songs, and would like to attempt playing them, I have worked out fairly easy to play versions which you can reach at the links below:
Colbie Caillat - "Bubbly" chords and lyrics.
Colbie Caillat - "Realize" chords and lyrics.
If you're not familiar with the songs, you can check them out at these links:
Colbie Caillat - "Bubbly" on YouTube.
Colbie Caillat - "Realize" on YouTube.
Colbie Caillat - "Fallin For You" on YouTube.
You can buy her great new album "Breakthrough", or her brilliant first album "Coco", featuring "Bubbly" and her other singles at CD Universe - Colbie Caillat music page
Colbie's official website is at http://www.colbiecaillatmusic.com/ Her world renowned MySpace page is at http://www.myspace.com/colbiecaillat - this is a 'must visit' page!!!
P.S. - In case you're wondering, my latest tip for the next band to make it big via MySpace is a Canadian rock band recently re-invented as "Moeraes Fate" and previously known as "Dame", now gigging and recording as "Moeraes Fate" - check out their new & old MySpace pages at http://www.myspace.com/moeraesfateband and http://www.myspace.com/dameband Moeraes Fate are a fantastic 3 piece all-girl rock band who are destined for greatness.
