The Shins "Strange Powers"

As I said in a previous post, I'm a huge fan of the Shins, and will try to get as many playable versions of their songs on my Shins guitar chords page as possible - but a lot of their stuff is pretty quirky, and the songs don't always translate to playing simplified acoustic versions.

But one of my favourite of their songs is a cover they did of Magnetic Fields' "Strange Powers", for which the rhythm guitar part uses just 5 chords - F, C, G, Dm and Am. The song doesn't feature on "Wincing the Night Away", but was the "B-side" for the "Sea Legs single.

You can find my version of The Shins "Strange Powers" on my guitar chords website at the link below:

the Shins do have a very distinguishable sound and I think it does have a lot to do with the guitar chord choice and of course James' voice.
