Noel Gallagher "Death of You and Me" Guitar Chords and Lyrics

I was a huge fan of Oasis in the mid-90s, once again thanks to the good taste of my lovely daughters! As a result, there are obout 30 Oasis songs on my Oasis guitar chords page.

I kinda didn't keep up with the later albums, but since hearing the first few songs from the debut album, simply titled "Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds", I have been re-converted. Noel and his new troupe of musicians combine the best of the melodic side of Oasis, without being 'Oasis-light' - there is still a rocky edge to the sound. Delighted to hear that the new tour ( currently in Ireland ) is really kicking up a storm, with fans and critics alike.

I've worked out the chords and lyrics for the first single from the album "Death of You and Me", which for convenience I have posted to my Oasis page (see above). Click on the link below to go straight to the page for the song:

Death Cab for Cutie "Codes And Keys" Guitar Chords and Lyrics

Death Cab For Cutie are one of the bands who have been recommended to me by my daughters and their friends, but which I never seem to get around to having a good listen to.

I did get a chance to have a listen to their new album "Codes And Keys", and was really impressed. Comparisons to Coldplay, Keane, Snow Patrol are inevitable, particularly with many of the songs being keyboard driven. But they acquit themselves very highly in this company.

I was particularly taken with the Title track, "Codes and Keys ( duh... ) and have worked out the chords and lyrics for it, which I've posted to my Rock Songs Guitar Chords page, or you can just click on the link below:

Just a throwaway piece of info for the anoraks - the band got their name from a really funny song by the great 60's outfit "The Bonzo Dog Doo-dah Band". Just sayin'..!

Bruno Mars "The Lazy Song" Guitar Chords and Lyrics

I've already worked out chords and lyrics for "Just The Way You Are" and "Grenade", the first two singles from Bruno Mars' chart-topping album "Doo-Wops and Hooligans". I really like his upbeat mix of pop, reggae and just generally "feelgood" music.

I recently worked out and posted my interpretation of the third single from the album, "The Lazy Song", and posted it to my Pop Songs Guitar Chords page, at the link below. The original song is in the key of B major, which means that the song chords would be quite tricky for learning players. I have transposed the song down four semitones, to the key of G ( every beginner's favourite! ), so the transposed chords are G, D, C, B7, Am, Bm and Em. Just put a capo on the 4th fret to bring the song back to B, if you want to play along with the original. The song is available on my website at:

Aloe Blacc "I Need A Dollar" Chords and Lyrics

Aloe Blacc is yet another artist I'd never heard of before this song hit the airwaves with a vengeance - but it would seem he has been performing and recording since the mid 90's. "I need a dollar" was taken from his Eight album, good things.

The song is a pretty simple, straightforward R&B ( that's Rhythm and Blues folks! ) song, which maybe accounts for it's universal popularity.

Although the song is in the fairly tricky key of G# minor, I have transcribed it down four semitones to E minor - put a capo on the 4th fret if you want to play it in the original key. After transcription, the chords I've worked out are: Em, D, Am, and B7 for the Verse/chorus, with the 'bridge' being Bm, Em and Am.

I've posted the chords for "I need a dollar" to my Pop songs guitar chords at the link below:

Adele "Set Fire To The Rain" Guitar Chords and Lyrics

Yes, it's another Adele song, who'd have thought?! In fairness, she has just brought out a bunch of really good songs in rapid succession, so when looking for songs to add to my website, she's a Godsend!!

Another power-ballad, with nice melodic verse and bridge building up to an anthemic and memorable chorus. The original song is in the key of D minor - I have transcribed it to A minor to create an easier set of chords to play, so you would need to put a capo on the 5th fret to play along with Adele's version.

I've posted my transcription of "Set Fire To The Rain" to my Pop Songs guitar chords page at the link below:

La Roux "Bulletproof" Guitar Chords and Lyrics

Regular visitors to my website will know that I generally stick to an eclectic selection of the musical genres I like, mainly Rock and Indie songs, plus some niche areas like Folk Songs , "Golden Oldies" , Soul/R&B Songs and of course Christmas Songs ( Never too early ....! )

While I do have a large bunch of songs on my Pop Songs guitar chords page, these are mainly songs by the Rock or Indie bands that were just a bit 'light' to be considered as "Rock" - sometimes it's a fine line!

But I have lately found that there are less and less 'guitar songs' around, particularly being played on the radio stations, and in the singles charts, so I've opened my mind to some of the other music styles I might previously have bypassed.

One of these is the great 'Electro-pop' single by La Roux called "Bulletproof". I found by concentrating on the Bass lines, it wasn't too difficult to figure out which chords would underpin the song. Although the song is in the key of E flat minor, I was able to transpose it down a semi-tone to D minor, producing chords: Dm, G, Bb and F - not too tricky, huh?!

The plus side of playing songs like this out at open-mic or just get-together sessions is the 'surprise element' - you get a few bonus 'kudos points' for playing a song that your audience would'n have expected an acoustic guitar player to manage.

I have the chords and lyrics for La Roux "Bulletproof" at the link below:

Train "Marry Me" Guitar Chords and Lyrics

I first heard of Train last year, when their single "Hey Soul Sister" ( which I have posted to my Rock Songs Guitar Chords page ) was getting lots of radio play, but I gather they've been around for quite a few years.

I will try to catch up on their older stuff at some point, but in the meantime I have worked out the chords and lyrics for their latest single "Marry Me".

The chords are pretty playable, even for beginners: C, G, G5, Am, F, Am/G, Bb and Csus4. If some of these chords don't sound familiar, don't worry, I have included diagrams for them, they are mainly just variations of chords you'll already know.

I've posted the song to my Pop Songs Guitar Chords page at the link below:

Loggins and Messina "Danny's Song" Guitar chords and lyrics

This is one of those in the 'Songs I'd almost forgotten' class. I was only reminded of it when my daughter heard the Anne Murray version on radio, and asked me if I could work out the chords for her - which, as a good, thoughtful Dad I of course did! I thought I didn't know the song at all until I heard the chorus, then remembered it from back in that early period in the 70's when Kenny Loggins and Dan Messina were up there with The Eagles in the big Country/Rock scene.

It's actually a pretty nice song to play, nice chord sequence - D, C, Bm, E7 and A for the verse, and G, A, D, Bm for the main part of the chorus, ending back with the verse chords.

I posted my version of the song chords and lyrics to my Old Songs guitar chords page on my website. Check it out at the link below:

Adele "Rolling in The Deep" Guitar Chords and Lyrics

It's hard to avoid Adele when thinking of songs to work out these days! There have been times where she seems to occupy every second position in the singles charts.

I have already worked out the chords and lyrics for "To Make You Feel My Love", "Someone like You", and "Set Fire To The Rain", and posted them to my Pop Songs Guitar Chords page.

Struggling to keep up with the prolific Adele, but I have now worked out easy to play chords and lyrics for "Rolling In The Deep". The song is in the key of C# minor / E flat major, which would be pretty difficult for those of us who are not quite expert guitar players, so I have transcribed the song to be in the key of A minor / C major, which makes for a much more playable set of chords - Am, F, G, Em, E, and C. Putting a capo on the 3rd fret will bring the song back to the original key - but you should obviously aim for a key which suits your voice.

There is a 'bridge' part which is piano/keyboard based, which involves playing some notes over an A minor chord, but you can busk it through with just the A minor if you find this too difficult.

MGMT "Kids" Guitar Chords and Lyrics

I honestly thought I had worked out the chords for "Kids" a long time ago - when the song was always on the radio. But I received a request on Facebook for the chords of the song, and discovered that it was one of the 'ones that got away'.

It's too good a song not to have on my site, so I've remedied the situation and posted my version of the song chords and lyrics to my Rock Songs guitar chords page on my website. Check it out at the link below:

Sade "Still In Love With You" Guitar Chords and Lyrics

Following a return from over 10 years of retirement, and the release of a new album "Soldier of Love", Sade have released a brilliant compilation album, "The Ultimate Collection", featuring all of the old classics ( including my own personal favourite "By Your Side".

As well as providing all your favourite Sade songs on one album, there is also the inclusion of an absolutely gorgeous cover of a ( to me at least ) lesser-known Thin Lizzy song "Still in Love with You". Since hearing the cover, I have checked out the original, which is brilliant, but when you listen to the cover version it just sounds like the song was written for Sade's smooth and smoky vocals.

The chords for the song are straightforward enough - Am, D, Dm, G, C, C/B and Am7, with a single Fmaj7 right at the end, although as indicated in my transcription, you can alter these chords slightly for a bluesier sound.

Foo Fighters "Rope" Guitar Chords and Lyrics

"Rope" is the first single from the new Foo Fighters album "Wasting Light", and it's Dave and the boys doing what they do best - nifty riffs and chords, building up to the trademark anthemic chorus. It's the first Foo Fighters song I've added to PJs Guitar Chords and Lyrics since "Wheels", almost two years ago.

It's great to see a classic rock band like the Foo Fighters still out there making good rock songs and releasing singles - I have been finding it really difficult in the past few years to use the charts as a source of good songs to work out on guitar, and I'm hearing fewer and fewer songs on radio that make me want to reach for my guitar.

Although it's not an obvious song for playing on acoustic guitar, I have worked out a set of chords which will hopefully be playable on either electric or acoustic ( no tabs for the lead solo, I'm afraid! ). The main body of the song is carried along with a set of 'triads' - three chords played in quick succession, i.e.:

Bm-D-Bm ; F#m-A-F#m ; Dm-C-Dm ; Dm-C-Dm ;

The chords in the pre-chorus and chorus are pretty straightforward, Bm, F#m, Dm, G, Em and A, with a nice little slide up at the end: G-G#m-A-Bb-Bm

I have uploaded my transcription of "Rope" to my Foo Fighters songs chords page, or at the link below:

Adele "Someone Like You" chords and lyrics

Like pretty much everyone else, I've run out of superlatives to describe the amazing vocal talents of Adele. A glance at any UK, US or other charts inevitably will have at least 4, maybe 5 of her songs in the top 40, so it's great to see she is getting the recognition she deserves.

"Someone Like You" is the second single from her "21" album, and co-written by Adele and Dan Wilson.

I have worked out the chords for "Someone Like You" and posted them to my Pop Songs guitar chords page, along with "To Make You Feel my Love", which I'd posted earlier.

The song is in the key of A major, but I've transposed it to G major to generate an easier set of chords to play. Use a capo on the 2nd fret to bring the song back to the original key, particularly if you want to play along with the video (below).

Guitar Chords - Amy McDonald "This is the Life"

TV commercials can be a great source for discovering new artists ( or at least artists new to me! ) and some great songs for playing on guitar.

The recent Fiat 500 Twin Air TV ad featured a great song I had never heard, and which on 'Googling' it discovered was Amy McDonald singing "This is The Life", from her debut album of the same name in 2007, which reached the number 1 spot in the UK's ( and several other European country's ) album charts. First impression was that she sounds like a female version of fellow-Scot Paolo Nutini, but that's just my impression.

The song is in the key of C# minor, with chords being C#m, B, E and G#. Not the easiest set of chords for guitar players in the early learning stages, so I transposed the song to the key of A minor. This allows for a much more straightforward set of chords: Am, F, C and E, which are played throughout the song. Play with a capo on the 4th fret to bring the song back to it's original key.

I have posted my transcribed version of the chords and lyrics to "This is the Life" to my Rock Songs Guitar Chords page at Guitarsongs.info.

Two Door Cinema Club - Chords for "What You Know"

This is my second attempt at working out a 2-Door Cinema Club song, having posted chords and lyrics for "Something Good Can Work" to my Rock Songs Guitar Chords Page about a year ago.

With the shortage of good new songs by what I'd class as "Guitar Bands" these days, I've had to step a bit outside of my comfort zone and try working on songs by bands like "Owl City", "Florence and the Machine", "Paramore" and a few others in, I suppose, the "electro-pop" genre, including of course "Two Door Cinema Club". They are almost all nice, catchy, sing-along songs though, and generally sound ok even just played on acoustic guitar, even though the song itself is carried mostly by electronic keyboards.

This one is in the key of F#m, so I have transcribed it to Em, which means putting a capo on the 2nd fret, to bring it up to the original key.

Chords aren't too tricky: Em, Em7, D6, Bm, Cmaj7 on the verse, and Em, Em7/F# ( 220000 ), G and Cmaj7.

My guitar version of "What You Know" has been uploaded to my Rock songs chords page, you can find it at the link below:

Guitar Chords - Jamie Lawson "I wasn't expecting That"

Like David Gray before him, Jamie Lawson is another West of England singer-songwriter who has been 'adopted' by the Irish music loving people as one of their own. His great single "I wasn't expecting that" went to #1 in the Irish iTunes charts, having gone viral on YouTube, with over 360,000 views since it was posted earlier this year.

Jamie has been touring his new album of the same name ( "Wasn't expecting That" ) around Ireland over the past few months, and is building up a huge following around the country. I have only had the chance to 'dip into' the album, some of the songs sound amazing, some possibly need to grow on you. Very much a new artist finding his feet, but one I believe will explode on the international scene very soon.

I have worked out an easily playable chords and lyrics version of the single, and posted it on my Pop Songs Guitar Chords page at www.guitarsongs.info (PJ's Guitar Chords and Lyrics)

The chords are straightforward enough: C, Em, Am, G, F, Dm and E7 for the verse and chorus, and a bridge which also includes G# and G7. The key for the song is actually F#, but Jamie plays it with a capo on the 6th fret, using the chords above, which just seem to suit the song.

The chords and lyrics for "Wasn't Expecting That" are at this link:

Guitar chords and lyrics to "Wasn't Expecting That" by Jamie Lawson

Significantly, Jamie has opted for an Irish domain for his website, which is at http://www.jamielawson.ie/

Guitar Chords Avril Lavigne "Everybody Hurts"

I still think of Avril Lavigne as a relatively new young artist, so was amazed when checking on Wikipedia that her first album "Let Go", which included "Complicated" and "I'm With You" was released in 2002. Yup, nine years ago!

In that time, I have worked out easy chords and lyrics versions to 8 of Avril's songs, including the two mentioned above, with "When You're Gone" being the last one posted, back in 2007, on my Avril Lavigne song chords page.

Haven't heard much from Ms. Lavigne since then, but just heard her new single "Everybody Hurts" on the radio, and it sounds like she's back to top form.

The song is in the key of F#/G#m, with chords being G#m, E, B and F#. As these are quite difficult chords for early learning guitar players, I transposed the song to the key of D/Em, which produces a much more manageable set of chords: Em, C, G and D. Play with a capo on the 4th fret to bring the song back to it's original key.

I have posted my simplified chords and lyrics version of "Everybody Hurts" to my Avril Lavigne Guitar Chords page at Guitarsongs.info.

Shine on you Crazy Diamond - Pink Floyd

Pink Floyd are not a band whose songs lend themselves to being interpreted for just acoustic guitar and voice - my only other 'Floyd' song on guitarsongs.info is "Wish You Were Here", one of their few songs beloved by buskers worldwide, which is on my Rock Songs Guitar Chords page.

After watching a video on Facebook of Christy Moore and Declan Sinnott perform their version of the song, I decided to give it a go. I listened to a live version of the song by Dave Gilmore ( see below ), pretty much sat in awe thru the 5 min. 25 second instrumental intro, and worked the chords from the start of the first sung verse.

Chords are not the handiest - Gm, F#, Bb, Eb, Dm, Cm, F, C, D, Edim, so you'll be pretty much deploying barre chords most of the way, but it is a slow tempo song, so ideal for anyone who wants to learn some new chords, practice playing songs with lots of barre chords, and at the end of it all, be able to play a classic Pink Floyd rock song on your guitar.

I've added my chords and lyrics version of "Shine On to my Rock Songs Guitar Chords page at Guitarsongs.info.

You can check out my version of "Shine On You Crazy Diamon" at the link below:

Villagers - "Becoming A Jackal" chords and lyrics

My first attempt at chording a song by Irish Band "Villagers". I first heard this song on "Later with Jools Holland", they sounded to me quite like one of my favourite bands "The Shins".

One thing these bands certainly have in common is producing very melodic songs with basic major and minor chords, but which are really difficult to play - the lyrics not always following the chord sequence in any flowing or rhythmic way

But - I've given it my best shot, and added my chords and lyrics version of the song to my Rock Songs Guitar Chords page at Guitarsongs.info.

The chords themselves are straightforward enough - Am, Am7/G, Dadd9, B7, Em, Em7, C, C/B, G, Bm, F and G7. Keeping them flowing, while singing the lyrics, I must admit I found quite difficult, so this one may not suit the early learner.

You can check out my version off "Becoming A Jackal" at the link below:

Belle & Sebastian - I want the world to stop

Belle and Sebastian are one of those 'fleeting' artists I only hear at very irregular intervals.

I had already worked out and posted chords for "If you're feeling Sinister" ( from the 1996 album of the same name, and "Step into my office, baby" from the 2003 album "Dear Catastrophe Waitress". I guess the Glaswegian band's quirky style doesn't sit that well with mainstream radio DJs.

I recently did hear "I want the world to stop" from their 2010 Album "Write about Love", worked out the chords and lyrics, and added them to my Rock Songs Guitar Chords page, along with the previous two. Hmmm... just looking at the gaps in these posts, I guess you can expect the next Belle and Sebastian song from me sometime in 2018!!

The song has a fairly playable bunch of chords: Am, Dm, C, E, A, G, Em and F, has a great melody and some nice harmonies.

You can check out my version off "I want the world to stop" at the link below:

Noah and the Whale - L.I.F.E. G.O.E.S. O.N.

I have already posted chords and lyrics for "5 Years Time" and "Shape of my Heart" by English indie-folk-rock band Noah and the Whale, from their debut album "Peaceful, the world lays me down". You can find them on my Rock songs guitar chords page.

I have to admit that I really didn't catch the second album, "Blue Skies", but "Life Goes On" ( or more accurately "L.I.F.E.G.O.E.S.O.N." ), the first single from the new album "Last Night on Earth" has been getting lots of airplay, and receiving good critical review.

I have worked out a very playable chords and lyrics version of the song, which has also been added to my Rock songs page, you can check it out at the link below:

Guitar Chords and Lyrics "Aretha" by Rumer

Rumer is a British female pop/soul singer born in Pakistan. Her voice has been compared to many great female singers, including the late Karen Carpenter, but her vocals are a unique brand of sweet, bluesy and sultry, and I believe she will go on to be a huge star in her own right.

I had previously posted my chords and lyrics version of her first single "Slow", from her debut album "Seasons of the Soul". "Aretha" is the second single taken from the album, and is another gorgeous soulful ballad.

Rumer is already a hit with some top names in the business, having toured with Jools Holland and Joshua Radin among others, and has the distinction of having had a number of songs written especially for her by the great Burt Bacharach.

I have worked out my chords and lyrics version of "Aretha", and added it to my Soul Songs Guitar Chords page at the link below. The song is in the key of F major, which means there is a tricky enough selection of chords involved.

The chords are F, B flat, G minor, E flat, E flat minor, D minor and C minor. I would normally suggest transcription to a lower key, using a capo to bring the pitch up to the correct key, but in the final verse there is a key change from F to G, the chords here being G, C, A minor, F, F minor, D minor, and E7th.

Transcription would produce an easier set of chords for the main body of the song, but even more difficult chords for the last verse. In any case, the original chords just fit the bluesy feel of the song, so it is worth while putting in the extra effort to practice these chords.

You can try out my version of the song at the link below:

Guitar Chords "To Make You Feel My Love" Adele and Bob Dylan

This post is a 2-for-1 special! When I heard Adele's version of "To Make You Feel My Love" I realized that I hadn't posted the chords for the original version by Bob Dylan, despite the fact that I am a huge Dylan fan.

Thought I might have gotten away with just working out the song once, but on listening to both versions, there are quite a few differences, the Dylan version is bluesier, and is in a totally different key. So... I worked out the chords for both versions, so that you should be able to play whichever is your favourite version. Or even mix it up and alternate between the two!

The Adele version is in the key of B flat, a tricky key, so I have transposed it to the key of G - if you put a capo on the 3rd fret you'll be playing back in B flat, and can play along with the original Adele version. The transposed chords are: G, G/F#, F, C, Cm, G, A7, D7 and G for the verse and C, G, B7, C, G, C, G, A7, D7 for the Bridge.

The Dylan version is in the key of C sharp, so I've also transposed the chords for this version, down to C, so in this case you would need a capo on the 1st fret to play along with the original.

The chords are a bit more complex, but I have included a chart showing the fingering for each of the chords used, which are: Cadd9, Em7, Em7b5, F, Fm, C, D7, G, Cadd9 for the verse, and for the Bridge - F, C, E, F, C, F, C, Dm7 and G.

I've posted my chord arrangement for Adele's version on my Pop Songs Guitar Chords at the link below:

I've posted my version of Dylan's original on my Bob Dylan Songs Guitar Chords at the link below:

Guitar Chords and Lyrics - Cee Lo Green "Forget You"

This has gotta be the classic pop/soul song of 2011! I'd never heard of Cee Lo Green before this, but I gather from Wikipedia that he was half of Gnarls Barkley, who had had a UK and US number 1 previously with "Crazy"

"Forget You" ( originally titled "F**k You", but very sensibly toned down to get radio exposure! ) is a tongue-in-cheek lyric, bemoaning the fact that he can't get the girl 'cos he ain't got the money, but surging along on an almost 60's Motown feelgood rhythm and melody.

I figured this one would probably be a "must play" cover for all guitarists who play at work / friend / family sessions ( most probably using the original lyrics ... ), so I've worked out a chords and lyrics version which is very easy to play, even for beginning guitarists. Basically it is C major, D7th, F major and back to C most of the way thru.

There is a bridge which has E minor, A minor, F major, G major and D minor ( there is a little bass "walk-up" from the Am to the Dm if you can manage it, but you'll get away without it - chances are your audience will be singing along so loud they won't notice! )

I've posted my chords and lyrics version of "Forget You" on the Guitarsongs.info Soul, R&B page at the link below:

Bruno Mars "Grenade" chords and lyrics

This is the second single from Bruno's debut album "Doo-wops and Hooligans", a great selection of bright and bouncy pop tunes.

I have been listening to the song, and have worked out a simple chords and lyrics version, and posted it on my Pop Songs Guitar Chords page at www.guitarsongs.info (PJ's Guitar Chords and Lyrics)

The song is in D Minor, with the chords being D minor, A minor, B flat, A major, F major, C major and G minor.

Because there are a few tricky chords here for the early learner, I transcribed the song to A minor, which produces chords: A minor, E minor, E major, F major, C major, G major and D minor - a set of chords most people learn at an early stage. Just put a capo on the 5th fret while playing the A minor version, and you will still be in D minor, and able to play along with the original.

Guitar Chords to "Kentish Town Waltz" by Imelda May and Lou Reed

This is only my second post of a song by the divine Imelda May. There are actually two versions of the song released, one with just Imelda May and the other where she duets with the legendary Lou Reed - an unlikely combination, but it works! Although, I have to admit that the solo version is my favourite of this gorgeous little story, based on Imelda's real-life experience of arriving in London seeking her fortune.

"Kentish Town Waltz" is taken from the third Imelda May album "Mayhem", which also features the single of the same name, and her brilliant cover of "Tainted Love" by Soft Cell ( click the link for my chords & lyrics transcription for that classic ).

The song has very simple chords, suitable for early learners and consisting of G, D, D7, C and Am.

I have posted my transcription of this song to my Pop songs guitar chords page at the link below, give it a try, and have fun! Imelda and the band are currently ( April '11 ) touring with Jeff Beck, so if you get the chance, that's a gig worth attending!

Tom Waits "Walk Away" Guitar Chords and Lyrics

It will be no surprise to my regular Blog readers that I'm one of Tom Waits' biggest fans. With the possible exception of Dylan and Cohen, no-one has transformed the musical landscape over the past 40 years more than Tom Waits.

Despite the fact that there are over 60 of my chords and lyrics transcriptions of his songs on my Tom Waits song chords page, it is really difficult to break most of his songs down to simple chords and lyrics versions, because of the diversity of instruments and strange and wonderful percussive devices he uses.

But, I've promised to continue to post songs from "Orphans" ( and his other albums ), so I've just finished working out my simplified version of "Walk Away", from the "Brawlers" set.

The chords themselves are a simple combination of Am, E7 and Dm, as you can see in the song transcription below:

Willie Nelson "On the Road Again" Chords and Lyrics

Although I do quite like American country music, including the legendary Willie Nelson, I don't feature too many on my website, perhaps a few on the Folk Songs chords or Golden Oldies chords pages.

I've had a few requests from Facebook friends for Willie Nelson songs, and two specifically for "On the Road Again", so I have worked out the chords and lyrics and added them to the Golden Oldies page ( the song was #1 in the US Charts in 1980, having been written for the soundtrack of the movie "Honeysuckle Rose".)

The original version of the song is in the key of E major, with chords: E, G#m, F#m, A and B. Not the easiest of chord sequences for early learners, so I've transcribed the song to the key of C major, which makes for a much more manageable set of chords: C, Em, Dm, F and G. Put a capo on the 4th fret to bring the key back up to E, if you want to play along with the original - otherwise move the capo until you find the chords are a good fit for your vocals.

You can find the transposed chords for "On the Road Again" at this link:

Kings of Leon "Radioactive" Guitar Chords & Lyrics

Hard to believe that it's over two years since I posted chords and lyrics for a song by Tenesee's finest. The Kings of Leon are right up there with the top rock bands on the planet, they have regularly headlined at at least one of Ireland's summer rock festivals for the past number of years.

I had previously posted my interpretations on my Rock Songs guitar chords page for "Use Somebody" and "Sex on Fire", from the 2008 album "Only by the Night", as well as older songs like "Molly's Chambers", "Fans", and "The Bucket".

I have now added my version of "Radioactive", the first single from the 2010 album "Come around Sundown"

The original key for the song is F major, but I've found it easier to put a capo on the 3rd fret, and play in the key of D major. This leaves you with chords D, D/F#, Bm, Asus4 and Em7 ( I have diagrams for these chords if you're not familiar with them ).

I have posted my version of "Radioactive" on my Rock Songs Guitar Chords page at www.guitarsongs.info (PJ's Guitar Chords and Lyrics)

Guitar Chords - Bruno Mars "Just the way you are"

Before releasing his debut album "Doo-wops and Hooligans" Bruno Mars had already made his name in music circles as co-writer and guest vocalist on hits like Ce Lo Green's brilliant "F**k You / Forget You", and "Billionaire" by Travie McCoy, as well as "Right Round" by Flo Rida / Kesha.

I haven't heard the full album yet, but the tracks I've heard, as you might expect, are upbeat snappy pop songs, and Bruno has the smooth vocals to complement them perfectly.

I have worked out a nice, easy-to-play chords and lyrics version of the song, and posted it on my Pop Songs Guitar Chords page at www.guitarsongs.info (PJ's Guitar Chords and Lyrics)

There are basically only three chords in the song, repeated through the verse and chorus - F, D minor, and B flat. If these chords are a little tricky for you, you can put a capo on the third fret, and play chords D, B minor, and G, and you'll still be able to play along with the song.

Good Charlotte "Like its her birthday" Chords and Lyrics

This is only my third effort at working out chords and lyrics for a Good Charlotte song, despite their having released 5 albums since 2000. I guess they don't get too much airplay on Irish or UK radio, so I have only previously posted my interpretations of "Lifestyles of the rich and famous" and "Dance Floor Anthem", both of which are featured on my Miscellaneous Rock songs guitar chords page .

I like the bands indie/pop/rock sound, and the songs are usually pretty playable, even for learning guitarists, so I hope to get a chance to listen to the new album "Cardiology" and maybe work out chords for another song or two - probably "Counting the Days" which I gather is to be the second single.

"Like it's her birthday" is played in the tricky key of F sharp, or more accurately, G sharp minor, so once again I've tried to simplify the song by transposing it to the key of D / E minor, and putting a capo on the 4th fret so that you can play along with the original. Doing it this way means the chords used are D, Em, C and G, which are raised by the capo to the actual chords of F#, G#m, E and B.

I have posted my transposed version of "Like it's her Birthday" on my Rock Songs Guitar Chords page at www.guitarsongs.info (PJ's Guitar Chords and Lyrics)

Arcade Fire "We used to Wait" Guitar Chords and Lyrics

Arcade Fire are a great Canadian band founded in 2003 by husband and wife team Win Butler and RĂ©gine Chassagne.

Although I do really like the band, most of their songs I've heard don't really lend themselves to being played by early learners, either on acoustic or electric guitar.

I have previously posted "Wake Up" from the debut album "Funeral". Ironically it was highlighted to me by my nephew using it as the backdrop for a brilliant video montage he made of my eldest daughter's wedding in 2009. Excuse the paternal pride, but I'd be delighted if you'd like to check that one out, it's on Youtube at Nycola & Marc's wedding - Arcade Fire "Wake Up"

The chords and lyrics for both Wake Up and We Used to Wait are on my Miscellaneous Rock songs page at Rock songs guitar chords - W

"We used to wait" is another great song, the first single from the 2010 "Suburbs" album".

The song is in the key of C minor, but I have transposed it to A minor to create a set of chords which will be more suitable for the learning guitarist, or indeed for anyone playing the song. After transposition, the chords are: Am, C/G, F, D5 and Em. the C/G chord is just a C chord with the addition of the pinky on the 3rd fret, 1st string, i.e. 032013. D5 is a "Power Chord" and is played as x355xx. If you are in the early learning stages, you can just play standard C and D chords here, it will still sound fine.

To play along with the original, put a capo on the 3rd fret, and you will be playing in the same key as the original song.

My 'easy-to-play' interpretation of "We Used to Wait (for it)" is at Guitar Chords for Arcade Fire "We used to wait" .

Guitar Chords and Lyrics - "Slow" by Rumer

Sara Joyce ( a.k.a "Rumer" ) has a voice which has been compared by many to the late Karen Carpenter. While this is of course a compliment, having heard just a few of the songs from Rumer's debut album "Seasons of My Soul", I think this lady has a distinctive voice of her own, and a wide range - if you haven't heard her songs yet, approach them with an open mind.

I believe Rumer is going to carve out a really strong niche in the smooth soul/jazz world. She has already toured with Joshua Radin and Jools Holland, and has had a number of songs written for her by the King of Smooth himself, Burt Bacharach.

I have worked out my simple chords and lyrics version of "Slow", and added it to my Pop Songs Guitar Chords page at the link below. The song, as in the video below, is in the key of F major / E flat minor, so I have transposed it down a semi-tone and chorded it in E major / D minor. Just place a capo on the 1st fret to bring it back to the original key, particularly if you want to play along with the original.

The chords are D minor 7th and E major for the verses, with an additional A major in the chorus. If you're not familiar with Dm7, it's just the first 3 strings of an F chord with the three bass strings not played, i.e. xxx211 on a standard EAGBDe tuning.

You can try out my version of the song at the link below:
