Hard to believe that it's over 2 years since I've posted a song by Alicia Keys! But it was indeed March '08 when I uploaded chords and lyrics for "Like you'll never see me again" to my Soul/R&B songs page.
When I heard the 'original' Empire State of Mind I had my usual rant: "Another good song ruined by taking a great soul vocal and letting some banal rapper take all the good out of it". So I was delighted to hear that Alicia released her own version, Empire State of Mind #2, and got right down to working out a playable version for guitar.
Easy enough chords, just E, Amaj7 ( x02120 ) and B. If you're still finding the B a bit tricky, I've given an alternate version with C, Fmaj7, E, putting a capo on the 6th fret.
