On Wednesday 5th July, I received the 10 millionth visitor to my website ...... 10 MILLION!!
I was delighted, humbled, proud... and pretty much gobsmacked! That's more than twice the population of the country I live in! Ten million visitors - that's a lot of tea and biscuits!!
Certainly not what I expected when I created the site as a hobby/experiment back in 1999. And quite an achievement for a one-man, (very) amateur outfit competing for traffic with some very large 'company' guitar sites.
Apologies for blowing my own trumpet there, but it is a huge landmark for me.
Anywaze, since my last post I have issued the monthly guitar newsletter with 10 songs added to the site, some more guitar tips, recommended online guitar and music resources and latest news. I've published it online at http://www.guitarsongs.info/news.htm - the new songs are from Pink, Christy Moore, John Kongos, Raconteurs, Sheryl Crow/Sting, Tom Waits , The Shins, Jack Johnson , Bob Marley and Keane.
