Band of Horses - No-one's Gonna Love you Chords

"No-one's Gonna love you" is the first song I've heard from Seattle band "Band of Horses" (previously "Horses"). I think it was Ben Bridwell's vocal, somewhat reminiscent of another Canadian favourite, Neil Young, which caught my attention.

Dave Fanning Show RTE 2FM Monday 24th

"No man is a prophet in his own land"

Despite the fact that my chords and lyrics website approaches its 7 millionth visitor, and in fact does receive many visitors from my native Ireland, ( tho' the vast majority are from the USA, UK, Australia and Canada), I was really chuffed to hear that a number of listeners had called the Dave Fanning show tonight to praise PJs Guitar Chords and Lyrics . Unfortunately I was out and missed the programme, but I'll be listening to the webcast tomorrow at www.rte.ie/2fm/davefanning.html

2FM is the 'national' radio station, and Dave has been for many years the coolest DJ in the country. In the early 80's, when my work took me to 'Dooblin', away from my family for long periods of time, listening to Dave playing my kinda music late at night ( after the pubs! ) got me thru many a lonely night.

Dave's been Irelands 'ambassador of cool' ever since, and is respected in the music industry worldwide, interviewing and hob-nobbing with the greats, so it was an honour for me to get a mention on the show - cheers Dave!

Guitar Chords and Lyrics - First Post

Been putting off my debut in the Blogosphere for long enough now, time to make a start!

The website: www.guitarsongs.info has been around for seven years now, the 7 million visitor mark should hit before the end of Jan, so I know there is no lack of interest in the subject! A Google search for 'song chords' shows the site at #1 of over 3.5 million - long may it last!

The site provides free guitar chords and lyrics ( does what it says on the tin! ) for over 1300 songs by popular artists, in an easy to play format suitable for the beginner as well as the virtuoso. I've stuck with the eclectic rather than the comprehensive approach - there are only artist pages for bands and singers I like, and the miscellaneous Rock songs, Pop Songs, Folk songs, Soul R&B songs and Oldies songs pages only feature songs I like - but with 437 songs in the 'misc' categories and 1,365 overall, you've probably guessed I've got pretty wide tastes!

I guess the main function of this Blog will be to keep the guitar community up to date with what's happening on the site, and to help locate songs elsewhere on the net that I'm not likely to feature myself. I'll also be checking out other online guitarist resources and giving my two cents worth - hopefully others will pitch in.

As I've said, I'm a newbie to the Blog community, so please be patient while I find my feet!

To be honest, working out versions of John Mayer songs suitable for learning to intermediate guitar players is quite a challenge, but it's a gorgeous song, so I've done my best with it, I hope I've done it justice. Foo Fighters - Long Road to Ruin Chords and Lyrics

Dave Grohl and co. are still churning out some of the best rock sounds around. Their new album 'Echoes, Silence, Patience and Grace' is another great bunch of punchy songs with catchy riffs and powerful bass lines, accompanied by the vocal excellence of Mr. Grohl himself.

The Cake Sale - Some Surprise

I've just added chords and lyrics to "Some Surprise", as performed by Gary Lightbody ( from Snow Patrol ) and Lisa Hannigan, to the site, on my Snow Patrol page :

Tom Baxter - "Better" chords and lyrics

As I've found Tom Baxter's music gradually growing on me, I've created a Tom Baxter guitar songs page, which I will hopefully continue to update with my ( very basic ) versions of his songs.

The Shins - Phantom Limb Chords

The Shins ( hailing from Portland, Oregon )have been around for quite a long time, recording their first album in 1997 as "Flake Music" - my first post of one of their songs was "New Slang" from the 2001 album "Oh, Inverted World". I had also previously posted "This Celibate Life" ( ironically enough, on St. Valentine's Day... ), and "Kissing the Lipless".

I've only had a few listens to their 2007 album "Wincing the Night Away", but enough for me to know they will be a band I will follow, and hopefully continue to work out playable versions of their songs for learning guitarists.

So, as I've worked out the chords and lyrics to "Phantom Limb", I've also created a Shins guitar chords page, and moved the older songs from their previous location on my Rock Songs guitar chords page.

Lifehouse - First Time chords and lyrics

This is my first time posting a Lifehouse song, though there may well be more to come...

Although their first album "No Name Face" ( featuring the single "Hanging by a Moment, a song I'm sure I worked out, but didn't get around to adding ) was released in 2000, I kinda lost track of them, and only recently picked up on their new album "Who We Are", from which the "First Time" song is taken.
