Moeraes Fate ( was Dame ) - Listen and vote for the future of rock!

Ok, I have a small favour to ask. It will take a few minutes of your time, but I think it will be an enjoyable experience. It involves listening to a great new band called Moeraes Fate ( formerly Dame ). Because of my song chords website, I've been involved in pretty much all of the social media sites for several years now. Needless to say, most of my Myspace and Facebook 'friends' are bands and artists - 'birds of a feather' and all that. Which is great, because I get to listen to new bands and keep my finger on the pulse of new music.

Back in November 2007 I created a blog post here extolling the virtues of Dame ( now Moeraes Fate ) - a band from the Toronto area, who are still the best new band I've heard on any of the music community websites I subscribe to. Moeraes Fate ( formerly Dame ) are a trio of young ladies who belt out some of the best rock sounds I've heard in years. Which is astonishing when you realise that none of them are over 18. They have won numerous competitions for bands in the Toronto, Canada area, and are my tip to join artists like Colbie Caillat and The Fleet Foxes ( both of whom I had previously supported and promoted ) in the transition from MySpace to the recording studio and international recognition.

What I would ask of you is to visit the voting site on YouDiscover and vote for Moeraes Fate ( formerly Dame ). You'll find two of their live videos, and two songs on audio here, but I would suggest that you also visit the Moeraes Fate ( formerly Dame ) MySpace page to get the bigger picture - some of their earlier songs, Cyclops, Intervention and Hey Angel show off their lead singer Katee's bass guitar skills, as well as her kickass vocals, alternately sweetly seductive and in-your-face goddamn scary! Add this to Ali's aggressive-blues licks, and Kayla's mission to beat the crap outta that drumkit ( in the best possible way! ) and you have a rock band which I'm convinced will punch their way to the mainstream, and really soon.

The best band in Cyberspace - Moeraes Fate ( was Dame )!!

Yes, I know this is meant to be a song chords blog...

This is only the second time I have posted off-topic, and once again it's a 'heads up' on the best new band I've heard in a long, long time.

Firstly, I should make it clear that I have no connection with this band whatsoever, except for the musical connection I have with all of my favourite bands.

I discovered them ( not literally! ) on MySpace some months ago, and posted a link here to an online Battle of the Bands contest, in which they were embroiled at the time - for those of you who took the time to check out the band and vote for them - many thanks. I know from the feedback that you all felt as strongly as I that these girls are going places.

Their MS blurb says 'Recommended if you like Audioslave with chunks of Iron Maiden.'. I think this is selling themselves short. I would recommend them to anyone who likes REAL rock music.

Battle of the Bands in Cyberspace - vote MOERAES FATE ( Dame)

Thankfully, I've gotten back into stride and posted several new song chords over the past coupla weeks.

Right now, I have something to ask of you. Nothing, big, just a few minutes from your busy day, to listen to what I believe to be the best internet rock band around. It will cheer you up, make me happy, and make a bunch of really great young female rock musicians happy. Everybody wins... easy!!

I have only blogged off-topic twice before, to spread the good word on a fabulous young girl band from Canada called Dame ( 29 Sep 09 - now renamed as Moeraes Fate ). Since joining MySpace over 2 years ago to promote my website, I have been exposed to some of the best new music being produced by young bands, mostly unsigned. Many of these are on my 'Friend List' ( I always accept requests and respond with honest appraisals ), But Moeraes Fate ( formerly Dame ) for me are the future of rock music.

Moeraes Fate( Dame ) have stood out as the best internet band I've heard by far, writing and performing "Big loud rock tunes with big loud hooks" ( in their own words ), or kickass Rock music the way it was always meant to sound ( my version! ). They have four songs ( Cyclops, Intervention, Hey Angel, and Amnesia ) featured on the Moeraes Fate ( Dame ) Myspace page - three of these can also be heard on the Dame Battle of the Bands page. There is also a Youtube video montage of their songs on the Dame Band Myspace page.
