B'ehl - I'm sorry for being such a Crappy Friend

There are so many idiosyncrasies around this song, it's hard to know where to start!

It's a first, in that I've never posted a B'ehl song before. Actually, if I'm completely honest, I'd never heard of B'ehl before.

It definitely wins the prize for best song title on this blog....

And, while it's quite an easy song to play, and didn't take terribly long to work out, it definitely gets the #1 spot for 'longest time spent researching the background for a song on this blog'.

When I heard this song first, as so often these days on one of my daughters' MP3 players, I thought it was by The Sundays - the vocals sounded just like Harriet Wheeler at her best. But the title on the MP3 said "Bright Eyes - I'm sorry for being such a crappy friend", so I was all set to post it as a Bright Eyes song ( I had already posted their "First day of my life" to my Rock Song Chords page ).

But... it didn't sound like anything I'd heard from Bright Eyes, so I started my Google journey for the truth behind the song.

A search for the song name gave confusing results, suggesting it was... Bright Eyes, Rilo Kiley, Commander Venus (Bright Eyes precursor), and, finally B'ehl. When I clicked on the first few results, the name B'ehl seemed to be a common link, so I tried to find them on Wikipedia. For the first time ever, I came up with a blank. Then I just searched CDUniverse for B'ehl, and discovered a 2003 album of theirs titled.... "Bright Eyes"! End of confusion!.

Apologies for the ramble, but I've been working out guitar chords and lyrics for songs for over ten years now, and this was certainly the most troublesome. But well worth it, I really love the song, and I've posted my version of the chords and lyrics to my Pop Guitar Songs page, at the link below:

I couldn't find an official B'ehl website, best I could do was this page at Last.fm, but their music can be browsed or bought online at the link below:
