Grizzly Bear - Two weeks chords & lyrics

Another 'debut' band for my website, Grizzly Bear are a US Indie band from Brooklyn. I've only heard a few of their songs, hard to categorize their sound, but they've supported Radiohead ( who are apparently big fans ), and remind me somewhat of Belle & Sebastien, nice melodies, but with a kind of ominous undercurrent. But that's just me.

I've worked out chords for their single "Two Weeks", from the 2009 album Veckatimest for my Rock songs chords page, you can find it at the link below:

Rock Guitar chords and lyrics to "Two weeks" by Grizzly Bear

The video above should help if you want to play along with song. If it doesn't play for any reason, you can check it out at this Youtube link

Chords are straightforward enough: F, Am, C for the verses and Bb, F, C for the chorus. For easier chords you could transpose down to C, giving verse chords of C, Em, G, and chorus chords F, C, G ( put capo on 5th fret to bring the key back up to F ).

There's a whole bunch of information and good stuff on the official Grizzly Bear website at http://www.grizzly-bear.net/

Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots#1

23rd July 06:

Added the wonderful and quirky "Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots #1", by Oklahoma psychedelic alternative Rock Band, The Flaming Lips. Very playable, but interesting sequence of guitar chords, and even without the 'interesting noises' on the original, sounds pretty cool just played on an acoustic or electric guitar. Click on the link below to check it out:
http://www.guitarsongs.info/rock.htm#Ys

Also just added chords and lyrics for Bob Dylan's song "Dirge", from the much underrated "Planet Waves" album - can't believe I didn't already have this one, I've played it often enough! Check out the link below:

Nickelback "Gotta be Somebody" chords & lyrics

Nickelback released their first album in 3 years last week. Titled "Dark Horse", it continues the indie/grungy rock feel of 2005's multi-platinum "All the Right Reasons", and shows every sign of continuing the band's success story.

I don't actually have a Nickelback page on my guitar chords & lyrics site, but I had previously posted my interpretations of "You Remind Me" and "Rock Star" to my Rock song chords page, so I have now worked out an easy-to-play version of "Gotta Be Somebody", the first single from the new album - this is also posted to my Rock songs page at the link below:

Guitar Chords and Lyrics to "Gotta Be Somebody" by Nickelback

Christmas is just around the corner, but it's still not too late to try your hand at some of the many Christmas and holiday season songs on my "Christmas guitar songs" page. Every guitar player should have some Yuletide songs in their repertoire!

Nickelback's official website can be found here: http://www.nickelback.com/

Tom Waits, John Kongos songs

Two new songs added to the site, the delicious "Singapore" by the inimitable Tom Waits, and a probably lesser known song: "Tokoloshe Man" by John Kongos.

My love of Tom Waits music is probably pretty obvious by now! Much of his stuff is difficult to translate just for guitar, but I've done my best with "Singapore", great song!

You can find my interpretation on my Tom Waits page:

http://www.guitarsongs.info/waits.htm

Younger visitors are probably saying "John WHO??". But if you haven't heard Kongos' early 70's 'Jungle Stomp' songs, you should really try to get hold of both "Tokoloshe Man" and "He's Gonna Step on you again" ( covered by Def Leppard, among others ) - the songs are available on iTunes according to www.johnkongos.com. His "Tribal Stomp" sound was, I believe, the first use of authentic African music fused with rock, well worth checking out.

Both songs are posted on my "Rock Songs" page, at:

http://www.guitarsongs.info/rock.htm#Hs ( "He's gonna step..." ) and
http://www.guitarsongs.info/rock.htm#Ts ( "Tokoloshe Man" ).

New Songs - Pink & Jack Johnson

Two new songs added to the site today, "Who Knew" by Pink, and the excellent "Upside Down" by Jack Johnson.

Jack Johnson's songs were meant for guitar, but it's surprising how many of Pink's songs sound great with just acoustic guitar and vocals. You can find the new songs on these pages:

Santana / Steve Tyler - Just Feel Better

December 11th - added the great "Just Feel Better" by Santana ft. Steve Tyler ( from Aerosmith ) to my 'Rock Songs' page. Just click on the link: http://www.guitarsongs.info/rock.htm and click on 'J' to go to songs beginning J.

The song is in the key of Eb / D#, so I've transposed it down a semitone to D. Use a capo if you want to play along with the record. ( I have written an article on guitar chord transposition which you can read at: http://www.guitarsongs.info/transpos.htm )

Ann Marie, I have "Saints" on my Rock songs guitar chords page

I found the chords for "Bend Down Low" as supplied by none other than P. Casey himself, on a community forum on his website. The website is http://www.paddycasey.com/ , and the link with the "Bend Down Low" chords is http://www.paddycasey.com/community/forum/messaget.php?msgNum=182. Paddy seems to play a fairly active part in the forum, and has responded to a few requests for song chords. Fair play to him!

Thanks for visiting the site, and for the kind words. I hope you'll continue to visit and find songs you like to play there.
